Victoria, BC is a popular underwater diving destination for the professional and the novice scuba diver wishing to explore the underwater west coast sea life located off the southern tip of Vancouver Island and throughout the Gulf Islands.

The Jacques Cousteau Society praised the area as the second best to only the Red Sea in marine wildlife. Scuba divers are in for a treat. Victoria and area is home to the powerful six gilled shark, the curious Stellar and Californian Sea Lion, the mostly shy Harbour Seal, the unstable Wolf Eel and the, largest in the world... Giant Pacific Octopus.

The top diving spots in the Victoria area vary. There are dives for the experienced and for the beginner. The dive charter companies in the Victoria area operate year round, offer rentals and provide day and multi-day guided tours including lessons and equipment.

Some of the more popular dive spots in the Victoria area are located in the Saanich Inlet, around Ogden Point and Race Rocks. Many of the diving tour companies visit the graveyard of the 110 metre (366 foot) HMCS MacKenzie that was sunk in 1995 by the Artificial Reef Society of BC.

Scuba divers arrive on the west coast year round to explore the coral landscape and greet the marine wildlife. Many say the area is the best cold water diving destination in the world! A year round destination for a wicked scuba adventure. (more on scuba diving)
